One of my favorite hobbies when I hear a song is to pinpoint the samples, if there are any. There are so many hit songs that have samples, but they've been popular so long that people forget about the classics. I curated this playlist to showcase how gangsta rappers show love to the greats who paved the way.

Besides music, TV is also one of my interests. I love discussing it, and am willing to argue any hot takes on Twitter @AlexisJadeL. I will watch any show, old or new. The only popular shows I refuse to watch are "The Walking Dead" and "Breaking Bad." Other than that? I've seen it. However, there are 3 shows I will watch over and over and not get sick of: "Girlfriends", "The Golden Girls" and "Living Single".
I also will binge "Sex and the City" and "A Different World" if I'm in the mood. Although these shows are classics with fantastic female leads, not all of the stars were good friends. In fact, they sucked. I decided to list them all because yes, it's that serious to me. LOL! Here goes... Regine from Living Single This one is obvious. I love her wit and the fact that she never missed a chance to serve looks. On the other hand, she was awful when it came to teasing her friends. She'd get called short, then retort to body shaming Maxine, or poor shaming Synclaire. She even found a way to use Khadijah any time she could without ever thanking her. She had the worst character development of the cast.
Joan from Girlfriends
Maya's mom would call her "classist and egregious". I call her elitist, neurotic, critical and controlling. On the outside looking in, Joan is always showing up for people, planning hangouts and she was an intelligent attorney. When you look deeper (AKA watch all seasons 2,457 times like me), she only shows up so she can throw it in your face later or complain about "how much she does for people". As if the word "No" doesn't exist. She also only planned said hangouts so she could have control over the activity and setting because "her house is so much better". She completely ostracized Maya and admitted to having a problem with her own wedding because it wasn't up to her standards. I could go on for days about how awful this woman is. But I'll end it with this: even though Lynn was a lazy moocher, she was the best friend to the Girlfriends. Her loyalty and consideration for them was unmatched.
Carrie from Sex and the City
Carrie is a character that all fans agree was horrible. My opinion of Joan is HIGHLY unpopular, but not this one. Every SATC fan knows that Carrie lived way beyond her means and was a selfish, chain smoking train wreck who knew nothing about friendship, let alone love. In the movies they celebrate how much crap she had to go through before even getting to the aisle with Big. Charlotte, Samantha and Miranda are saints for putting up with her.
Whitley from A Different World
I truly don't think Whitley was a bad person. She was worldly, fashionable and cared about important causes. She was also very professional and exceptional at everything she tried. When things got serious, she never let them down. However, if she was in distress, she had an issue with being aware that other people have problems too. She would whine, vent and ask for a million favors before she even asked someone how they were doing. That one flaw caused a lot of friction in her relationships. With the help of Kim and Dwayne, she grows and checks herself.
I know this was long, but I promised y'all real lifestyle content! If you like any of these shows, drop a comment below.
